The Facilities

The story starts long ago in an era when the world was discovering new lands forming fresh alliances. From humid jungles to arid deserts, from thriving ports to far flung trading posts, in the mad scramble for Africa, generations of westerners sailed to their posts and worked tirelessly in mysterious lands. It was a time of great joy and discovery. Thrilling encounters with the wilderness escorted by local tribes became the talk around bonfires. Those that came to the Indian sub-continent, imbibed of its rich culture and traditions, they took this and more with them as they travelled to Africa. Be it the Anglo-Indian language or Indo-western food, be it the very comforts of home or the exquisite service of the Raj, the people in Africa evolved a culture of their own as they took to the bush with gusto, infusing their very own magnificence and grandeur into the once drab world of safaris.

We at Fort Ngorongoro retrace these very memories as we step back and try and perfect the true blue African experience of a beautiful bygone era. Fort Ngorongoro is designed to make you feel at home and cater to extended stays.

From packing and un-packing, to washing and ironing your clothes, from tucking you into bed with a blazing fire to waking you in the morning, your valet will take care of your every need at camp.

Our reception doubles up as an executive centre for your office needs.

Your personal guide and your Maasai askari will organise your activities and whilst our spa staff will whisk you away into many hours of pleasure, the chef will sit with you and work out your menus and you may even join us in the kitchen and learn how to cook some of our exquisite numinous dishes.
